The Association of Debt Recovery Agents (ADRA) is a non-profit entity that acts as the representative voice of the South African debt collection industry. ADRA represents the interest of various debt collection companies and acts in the interest of both credit providers and debtors. By holding its members to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and excellence, ADRA seeks to ensure that debt collection companies play an important and significant role in the credit lifecycle.

The Council for Debt Collectors was created by an Act of Parliament to make provision for the regulation and control of fees debt collectors charge, thereby ensuring the fair recovery of debt.
